Hello. My name is Jack, and I am a broadcasting student. We are currently looking for ways to increase our production value for American football programs, and we believe we have found a way to do so. One key component of productions in professional programs is the yellow first down line on football fields.

This line is a challenge to produce, however we have been doing work with ARToolKit (ARToolKit to make the line stay in the correct location. ARToolKit has been working very well, however we also need support for a BlackMagic Design Decklink cards. After asking around, we found OpenFrameworks. Here's what we need:

  1. An application receives a video stream from a Decklink card.
  2. An operator will tell the system on what yardage marker the line should go on, and the system can load a model or line into the correct position.
  3. The system tracks the field (preferably with NFT to place the yellow line on the field)
  4. After that, the line has to go under the players. This is easily accomplished by chroma keying the green from the field with the line below it, keeping it below anyone.
  5. This final processed image is sent out through another decklink output to our systems for use in live shows.

Is this easily accomplishable with OFx? If so how could it be done (generally speaking)?

Thank you,
Jack
